The Bailey family: Determination and courage

The Bailey family has been thru more than most families can even imagine. As a family friend put it, "most families would have fallen apart, but these guys keep plugging along - they're awesome."

You would think everything is just fine because the Bailey's are trying to keep things as normal as possible, a difficult thing to do when three family members have cancer.

"I have a choice, I can either curl up into a ball and not accomplish anything or I can try and be as positive as possible and take care of my family, my family needs to be taken care of," said Kathy Bailey.

Three years ago, Kathy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Last August, Kevin found out he had testicular cancer. A few months later, the family learned 3-year old Cecilia has Leukemia. Doctors say all three cases are unrelated.

Kathy talked of the great support that they get from friends and family who have set up a trust fund to help with medical bills. Her husband Kevin emphasized working through it: "I have to keep going, I can't quit, I've worked all my life, I've got to be for my family, I got 3 little ones to raise, so I've got to do it."
