Mary A. Cooper
Another old settler gone. The death angel visited the home of Mrs. R. L. Farrell taking as a toll her aged mother.
Mary A. Cooper was born in Shelby Co., Texas in July 23, 1843 and died May 22, 1919 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Farrell.
Mrs. Cooper married to Mr. William Henderson Darnell in 1858. To this union 4 children were born. N.A. Darnell of Willcox, Arizona, E.H. Darnell of Tempson, Texas, Mary A Dawson of Corpus Christi, Texas and Myrtle Farrell of Weatherford. Mr. Darnell died in the year of 1873 leaving her a widow. In 1877, she was united in marriage to John Cooper. To this union were born 4 children, three children which have gone before. two died in infancy. Mr. Willis Cooper died Sept 17, 1916 leaving Mrs. Suzie Butler of Calvin, Okla. She was united to the Baptist Church in 1881.
She was a loving wife and mother, and a faithful Christian and was loved by all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her 6 children, 28 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
The funeral was preached by Rev. C. Bowles pastor of the Baptist church Sunday afternoon.
