Born in Rock Island, Ill., he was the son of George Lewis and Mary Alice Ross Egley. In August 1970, he married Mary Elizabeth Hobb in Quincy, Ill.
Mr. Egley attended two years at Hannibal LaGrange College in Hannibal, Mo. He was an Air Force veteran, retiring in 1977 after 20 years of service. He retired from Riverside Plastics in Bonaparte in 2000.
He enjoyed woodworking and building models.
Survivors include his wife; one sister, Janet Haage of Keokuk; two brothers, Pete Egley of Keokuk and Robert Egley of St. Francisville, Mo.; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
The funeral was held at Vigen Memorial Home, with Rick Seaton officiating.
