Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Friday at the Tuscumbia Christian Church for Perry Hawkins, who died Tuesday night (1 Oct. 1968) at a hospital in Springfield, Ohio.
Mr. Hawkins, 76, spent the summer at his home in Tuscumbia but returned in August to Springfield, Ohio, to the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Doherty. He had spent last winter in Springfield with them. He was a native of the Brumley community and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James M. Hawkins, a well- known family. He had been retired 15 years. Mr. Hawkins was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge of Brumley.
Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Barbara Doherty, three grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Pugh of Kansas City and Mrs. Nancy Craft of Columbia.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Walter Hedges Funeral Home in Brumley where the body will lie in state. Interment will be in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
