Mrs. Sarah Jane Bryant - Died Sunday Morning
Mrs. Sarah Jane Bryant died Sunday morning at 12:45 at the home of her son, T. F. Bryant, 309 East Main Street after an illness of several months.
Mrs. Bryant was a native of Dyer County, Tennessee, having moved to this state with her family in 1882. Her husband, C. P. Bryant, died seventeen years ago. Until three years ago, Mrs. Bryant made her home with her son, C. E. Bryant; since that time she has resided with T. F. Bryant in this city.
Deceased is survived by three sons, Will J., C. E., and T. F. Bryant; one daughter, Miss Katie Bryant who reside in Taft, California. Miss Bryant, on receipt of the message announcing the death of her mother, wired back to her brothers that on account of being convalescent from an attack of flu, she could not make the trip. Her oldest and youngest died several years ago. Funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Bryant, 309 East Main Street. Rev. Henry Meredith officiating. Internment too place at New Friendship Cemetery.

On this the 3rd day of June 1905, personally appeared before me a notary public in the aforsaid County, Dully authorized to administer oaths, Joseph M. Purvis, Aged 48 years, resident of Oak-Bluff Township in County of Clay and State of Arkansas, whose post office is Hammett, Arkansas, and Martha A. Purvis, Age 72 years, resident of Oak-Bluff Township in the County of Caly and state of Arkansas, whose post office is Hammett, Arkansas, both well known to be reputable and entitled to credit and who being duly sworn declared in relation to aforsaid case as follows: Affiants state that they are respectfully half Brother and Step mother of claimant Sarah J. Bryant, Joseph M. Purvis having known the applicant all his life, Martha A. Purvis having known the applicant 52 years. Affiants state further that they became acquainted with the above said Charles Bryant, 39 years ago; that the Sarah J. Bryant, had not been previously married at the time of her marriage to said Charles Bryant; that to the best of their knowledge and belief the said Charles Bryant, had not been previously married at the time of his marriage to Sarah J. Bryant; that they were so well acquainted with the said Charles Bryant, and his associates and habits of life, that if he had been previously married they believe they would know it.
