Services for Estella Atkinson of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. Burial will take place at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Atkinson died Sunday, Dec. 25, at Spring Hill Manor. She was 93.

She was born on June 12, 1912, in Hope, Maine. She married Dwight Tipton in 1930, in Cripple Creek, Colo., they moved to Miami, Ariz. where he was a hard-rock miner, and had two sons Don and Norman. They then moved to Grass Valley where they lived until the mines closed. She married Richard Atkinson in 1953. She worked for Sears & Roebuck in Sacramento until retiring in 1967. She moved back to Grass Valley. She was a member of the Nevada County Travel Club. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Norman Tipton of Grass Valley; four grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands Dwight Tipton, and Richard Atkinson; and son, Donald Tipton.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
