The Bewley Family lost a special member, Philip Nelson, on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2pm at the age of 52, with his father by his side.

Philip was born on the 8th of November, 1953 on the island of Oahu, Hawaii to Navy parents Norman and Rose Ann (Janko) Bewley. He was the oldest brother of Rick Bewley & Tracey of Oklahoma City and Kathy McMillan & Terry of Moore. His children are Jack Bewley & Nicole Beal of the Midtown District, Kay Bewley & Josh Roschester of Moore and stepson Sean Eckart. His loving wife Lisa will cherish his memory and the beautiful home they created together in the Midtown District of Oklahoma City, where Philip loved the nighttime view of Oklahoma City's skyline. Philip's co-workers at Prime Realty were loving and kind in his final days.

Philip was preceded in death by Grandparents Paul & Mable Bewley of Oklahoma City and Frank & Anna Janko of Moore.

Philip was a kind, caring and quiet person who loved his family and treasured each moment with them. The two things in life he loved the most were 'family and food'. He was the rare individual who never spoke an unkind word of anyone.

Philip was an artisan who attained his commercial art degree from Oklahoma City Community College and owned Custom Plastics for over 30 years. His family has his artwork hanging on their walls reflecting his perception of life and an eye for detail. Philip was also a Realtor and home remodeler, taking great pride in 'celebrating the hardware'.

The family suggest memorial donations to be made out in his name to the Individual Artists of Oklahoma, 811 N. Broadway Ave in OKC or the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Rd. Des Plains, Illinois 60018.

Services will be Monday, the 16th of October at Eastern Ave Baptist Church, located at 836 N. Eastern in Moore, OK. With Pastor Jack Eldred officiating. Burial to follow in the Czechoslovakia Cemetery at SW 44th & Villa. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel.
