Henry Browne was born 1893 Armidale, New South Wales; son of Charles Herbert & Lillian V. (nee Roberts) Browne of Allen Street, Ascot, Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted in the AIF on 6/6/1915 and embarked for active service abroad on 9/8/1915 per HMAT "Runic" (A54). He was killed in action France 2/8/1916, aged 22 years.

Browne, and great-step grandson of Major General McGregor, late of Imperial Army."
