Siblings were Jean Pierre Arretche (1929–2002), Jacque Arretche (1932–1940), and Pierre Arretche {1936–2010).
In 1948, at 23 years of age, Prosper was the first Arretche to immigrate from France to the United States. His mother, father, brothers and cousins followed. He worked as a Shepherd and a Maintenance Man.
Prosper married, and is survived by, Eleanor Camacho Maciel and together they raised four sons Mitchell, Robert, Jaime and Richard. They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Prosper made many friends during his travels around the world. He spoke four different languages.
