Isaac was the son of Isaac Doten and Martha Faunce. Isaac was born in Plymouth and, according to his will, was a mariner by trade. Isaac married Mary Lanman/Landman in Plymouth on 05 October, 1734. Mary was 9 years his junior and they may have had as many as 14 children between 1735 and 1762. Isaac died 06 May, 1770, "of Plymouth" (according to the probate records of his will after the death of his wife in 1809) age 61 years.
