Maudie Carney, 87, of Ellisville, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Jones County Rest Home in Ellisville. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The Revs. Steve Nixon and Ralph Graves will officiate. A homemaker, Mrs. Carney was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Carney; and one son, John Wayne Carney. She is survived by her sons, Paul David Carney and Timothy Martin Carney of Ellisville; her daughter, Norma L. James of Ellisville; her sister, Bessie Spell of Pascagoula; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. today at Jones Funeral Home in Ellisville, which is in charge of arrangements.
