OBITUARY-BECKER RITES TODAY
EAU CLAIRE, March 20 Funeral services were to be held at 2 P.M. today at Community Congregational Church for the Rev. Allen O. Becker, 82, retired Lutheran pastor and missionary, who died Monday at the Berrien county hospital.
Conducting the funeral were Pastor Lloyd A. Zoschke and Elder Roscoe U. Garrett, a retired Seventh Day Adventist minister from Berrien Springs and a life-long friend of the Rev. Becker.
The Bowerman funeral home is in charge of local rites, and afterward will take the body to the Norberg Memorial funeral home in Princeton, Ill.
Additional services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at St. Matthew's English Lutheran church in Princeton, where the Rev. Becker was pastor for 18 years before coming to Eau Claire in 1945.. He will be buried in the family lot at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
The Rev. Becker, a native of Berrien township, son of Joseph Amos and Elizabeth Becker, was educated at South Maple Grove school and Whittenburg College, Ohio. After 14 years, as a missionary in India, he served pastorates in Ohio and Illinois before retiring to Eau Claire.
Surviving are his widow, the former Nellie Baumgardner; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Blanchard of Benton Harbor; a son, Richard, of Princeton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
