Army Pfc. Dean R. Bright, 32, of Roseburg, Ore.; assigned to 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Oct. 4 after being attacked by enemy forces using small-arms fire and other weapons in Taji, Iraq. Also killed were Spc. Timothy R. Burke, Staff Sgt. Christopher O. Moudry and Spc. George R. Obourn Jr. Survivors include: father, Bob Bright and his wife, Emily of Myrtle Point, Oregon; mother, Norma Lane, and her husband, Chris of Sutherlin, Oregon; the love of his life, Becky Bright, of Sutherlin, Oregon; son, Jarrod Bright, of Sutherlin, Oregon; daughter, Madison Bright, of Sutherlin, Oregon; sister, Sandra Powell and her husband, Ron of Roseburg, Oregon; special niece, Myah Dalby, of Roseburg, Oregon; grandparents, Tink and Jean Bright, of Sutherlin, Oregon and grandmother, Darlene Pingleton and her husband, Tom of Winston, Oregon. Dean was preceded in death by grandfather, Bill Fullerton.
