GROVES - James Weyman Carson, 75, of Groves died Tuesday afternoon, March 18, at Renaissance Hospital in Groves. Weyman was born on October 28, 1922(32) and is a native of Hodge, LA. He was a graduate of Port Arthur College and Lamar State College of Beaumont. He worked as a chemist in various plants locally and out of town and retired as a Chief Chemist at Texaco Chemical Plant in Port Arthur. He also served in the army during the Korean Conflict. Above all, Weyman had a solid foundation set upon Christ and is now at peace at the throne of his Savior. He was preceded in death by both parents and his daughters, Joettie and Regina. Survivors include his devoted wife of 57 years, Josie Beninati Carson; sons, Stephen and Jon; daughters, Victoria and Jenny; brother, Lavance; grandsons, Michael and David; step-grandchildren, Candace and Graig; and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 20, at Clayton Thompson Funeral from 5-8 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Groves on Friday, March 21st at 10 a.m. The burial will be in Quitman, LA at the Antioch Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Carson, David Carson, David Perry. Henry Galaviz, Cremer Hamilton, and Gilbert Lege.
