She was born August 3, 1917 in Palestine, TX, to Dewey Jessie and Clara Elizabeth Honea Bernard.
Mrs. Poole was the first cosmetology teacher at Jacksonville High School. She was a past president of the Business Professional Women's Association and a member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators. She was a member of First Christian Church of Jacksonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard Lee Poole; brother, Mabran Dewey Bernard; and one great-grandson.
Mrs. Poole is survived by son, Ben Poole of Whitehouse; daughters, Charlotte Calhoun of Jacksonville and Margarette Poole of Houston; sister, Virginia Grimsley of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
