"Doke" was the son of Helen Felder Adams and David Rogers. He was educated in the Houston County School System. He was employed as a Construction Worker and Farmer. He was a member of Oldfield Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia where he served on the Usher Board. He also was affiliated with the Nevolia O. Wright Field of Moral.
