Louisa Miville Abair was the daughter of Vetal Miville and Theotiste Bibeau. The family name varied over the years from Miville, Mainville, Mayville, Manville She is a direct descendant of Pierre Miville LeSuisse and Jacques Miville dit Deschenes and Catherine Baillon early settlers of Quebec. She married Cptn. Francis Abair in 1853 at Mt Clemens, Michigan. He was a Great Lakes ship Captain for 45 years.Louisa was the sister of another Great Lakes sailor, Captn. Charles S. Manville. Her other brothers were Antoine Vetal Miville and Pierre (Peter) Mayville Two of her daughters were Ursuline nuns Sr St. Angela Louise Abair OSU, also known as Louise Abair, d. 1945 and is buried in the Ursuline plot at Calvary. She was one of the founders of the St. Labre Indian School in Montana. Her other daughter was Sr. Maria Theresa Abair OSU who also worked with the Indians in Montana. A son Joseph Abair is also buried in the Abair plot.
