Mrs. Alta Carey Passes Away
Mrs. Alta Carey of 7027 San Luis Ave., Bell, passed away suddenly on January 5, at the age of 63. She had been a resident of Bell for the past 16 years, and with her husband, lived with the Ott Beigays.
Mrs. Carey is survived by her husband, Orville Carey, one daughter, Mrs. Ott Beigay, with whom she resided, and one son, Harley Carey.
Services were conducted at the Paul F. Meyer & Son Chapel yesterday with Rev. F. L. Bennetts, of the South Gate Presbyterian church officiating.
Mrs. Carey was a Past Noble Grand of the Rebecca Lodge, therefore the Rebecca Lodge of Compton, also had a part in the service. Interment was at Rose Hills Memorial Park cemetery.
Here to attend the funeral was Mrs. Carey's sister, Mrs. Maude Snyder, of Kansas City, Missouri. [Note from Susan MARTIN: Maude is actually Orville's sister.]
Carey Funeral
The Rev. S. L. Bennett officiated at the burial services of Mrs. Alta Carey, 62, who died suddenly at her home at 7020 San Luis avenue on January 10th. She was interred at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
Survived by her husband, Orville Carey; a daughter, Mrs. Otto Beigay, and a son, Harley Carey, all of Bell, Mrs. Carey was mourned by her many friends in the Southeast district. She was an active member of the Rebecca Lodge of Compton, and was a Past Noble Grand of that organization.
