Martha Jane Whitman 's first husband was Labolt Shauger.Her 2nd was Edmund Short & her 3rd was Albert Karker. Labolt Shauger died in Midland County. Edmund Short died in Grand Rapids Michigan at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. Albert Karker her third husband also died there. Martha went to live at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans later in life and also died there. Martha (Whitman) Shauger was one of the first settlers in Midland County. She was living in Ingersoll Township in 1850.Martha Jane and Labolt Shauger's family were Thomas 1862-1946, Viola 1868----,Alphonse 1866-----, Alexander 1875--1945 and Ida May 1877----.
