Hedwig's birth name was Auguste Christiane Hedwig Finn. She was the daughter of Jon Adreas and Charlotte Wilhelmine Finn.
She married Conrad Behrens in Shelby County, Tennessee on 17 Dec 1855. She married John Albach in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri on 31 May 1859.

The remains of Mrs. Hedwig Finn Albach accompanied by her daughter, Louise arrived from Zion City, Illinois, May 11th for interment in the Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Hedwig Albach contracted a heavy cold during a sudden change in weather just a week before and although delivered from her cold she slept her life away, the periods of waking becoming father apart, until finally she awoke in glory. She was 82 yrs, 1 mo. and 6 ds. old. One son, Robert C. Albach, of Luray, Kansas, four daughters, Mrs. J.J. Smith, of Minneapolis, Kansas, Mrs. C.C. Markley, Scranton, Kansas, Misses Sadie and Louise Albach, of Zion City, Illinois and ten grandchildren keenly feel their loss. Mrs. Hedwig Finn Albach was born in Marenburg Germany. She is survived by her four brothers and two sisters; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Koch, of Houston, Texas and two brothers, Carl and Emmannel Finn died in this country. Emmannel Finn was the father of Mrs. Chas Rubow. Although Mrs. Albach was reared a Lutheran she did not receive a change of heart until she was about 60 years of age. Since then she has been a true child of God with a clear Christian experience. A few weeks before her life went out she had a vision in which she saw Jesus, and he said to her, “Your work is done” On her 82 birthday anniversary she said to her daughter “This life has no more hold on me.” In her waking moments she was herself and a few days before her spirit took its flight she bade her friends and children farewell and made some arrangements for her funeral. In the last years of her life she had a close walk with God. Her life was full of praise to Jesus; it was the same in her illness, she was so happy in Jesus and his presence was so real to her that her heart was full of praise and adoration for her savior all the time. She said, “I love all the people, and my dear children, but I love Jesus better, and long to be with him.” She never shed a tear about departing this life but said to her sorrowing daughter, “Rejoice! Rejoice in the Lord!” The last audible prayer which became indistinct before finished was “O Holy Father! I come to thee! To the home you have ready for me. I want to meet all my children there. O how glad I am to be with you, Jesus!” She chose the following Scripture texts for her funeral: Col. 1:19,20; Rom. 14:17; St. Jno. 6:39, 40. Her remains were laid to rest beside her husband to await the trumpet of God on the resurrection morning, when the dead in Christ shall rise. Rev. H.E. Bowley, of Zion City, Ill. assisted by Rev. Raymond of Scranton conducted the funeral services at Asbury Chapel. 19 May 1910 Scranton Gazette
