Age 89 of Goodlettsville, on Tuesday, September 5, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Ward Brooks; three sons, Jim (Louise) Brooks, Tom (Donna) Brooks, David (Tracy) Brooks; seven grandchildren, Robert (Traci), Jessica, Jacob, Elliot, Abby, Anna and Callee; one great-grandchild, Lauren. Mr. Brooks graduated as Class President in 1936 from Goodlettsville High School, he served as Staff Sargent in the Army-Air Corps during WWII, he was the owner of Brooks Mens Store, 1952 - 1982. Mr. Brooks was the first City Manager of the City of Goodlettsville, 1958 - 1963. He was an active member of Goodlettsville Southern Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. today (Thursday), at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2006 at the funeral home, with Dr. Ronald Carrier officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are members of Goodlettsville Southern Methodist Church. Active Pallbearers are Rick Key, Don Gray, Doug Mabry, Jim Achuff, Johnny Claud Garrett, Jerry Garrett, Welborn Trotter, Steve Grubbs, Lawrence Brooks, David Wilson.
