John Atwood was a private in Capt Jacob Webster's company of minute men that went to Winter Hill 1775/1776.

John was a sergeant in Captain Jesse Page's Company of Colonel Abraham Drake's Regiment raised out of the NH Militia Regiment Commanded by the Honble Josiah Bartlett Esqr to reinforce the northern Continental Army in September 1777. He served from Sep 8 until Nov 15 in the 2d NH Militia at the Battle of Saratoga.
