Norma Jean Blaser, 81, formerly of Woodward, passed away quietly on Monday, March 31, 2008 at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry.

Norma Jean was born on April 16, 1926 in Woodward, the daughter of Gladys and Ralph Gilbert. She spent most all of her lifetime in the Woodward area. Norma Jean graduated from both Woodward High School and the School of Nursing at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.

On November 29, 1947, she was united in marriage to Raymond Norris Blaser at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. For a short time, they lived in Perry, where Norma Jean worked as a registered nurse at the Kings Daughter Hospital, before moving to Woodward. She moved to Rowley Memorial Masonic Home in Perry in 2004. Norma Jean was a member of the Woodward Christian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her children, Raetta (Dan Fancler) Zadow, Mike Blaser and Denise (Dennis) Van Den Broeke; brother, Arthur Dean Gilbert; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Norma Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ray and her parents.
