UNION - James B. Alman Jr., 80, of 102 Lawson Ave. died Feb. 19, 2002, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a brief illness.

A native of Union, he was a son of the late James B. Sr. and Lula Joins Alman and widower of Margaret Evans Alman.

He was retired from United Merchants Union Plant and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army, having served during World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Patsy Gibson and Cathy Parker, both of Union; four sons, Jimmy Alman of Newark, Del., Dennis, Ronnie and Gerald Alman, all of Union; two sisters, Wilma Lemaster of Union, Norma Nash of Pensacola, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Boyd Williams. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Rusty Parker, 294 Haney Cemetery Road, Union, S.C. 29379.
