Melon Ruth Leopold Irving, fifty-nine years of age, passed away on September 8, 2006.

She was born and raised on the family farm in a small community known as the Bonne Idee'.

She attended Johnson Elementary School and graduated from Union High School Class in 1965. She furthered her education by attending Southern University.

In 1967, she moved to Los Angeles where she met Alfred Irving. The married on March 30, 1968 and to this union three children were born.

She taught at Los Angeles Unified School District, Manchester Elementary, and Leuzinger High School in the Centinela Valley School District until her retirement in 2005.

She is survived by her father, Roosevelt Leopold Sr; her husband, Alfred Irving; a daughter, La'Sonya (Dana) Lewis; two sons, Rickey (Stacy) Irving and Al Jerome Irving; six sisters, Mary Pondexter, Ada (Ricky) George, Evon Buchanan, Golden (George) Dade, Rosie Sander, and Shirley (Antone) Beeks; two brothers, Roosevelt (Mildred) Leopold Jr and Marshall (Wyletta )Leopold; and seven grandchildren, Dont'e, Dayna, Diamond, Daja, Briana, Maurice, and Jayla.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mattie Bluford Leopold; and a niece, Artrician Michelle George.
