14 Sep 2006: Josephine Iacono "Josie" Barley, 71, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at home. She was the wife of the late Marlin N. Barley. Born September 25, 1934, in York, she was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Anna (Gurreri) Iacono She was the former co-owner with her husband, Marlin, of The Barley Convalescent Homes. Since 1984, she and Marlin co-owned/operated Autumn House East and later opened and operated Autumn House at Powder Mill. She was a 1952 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and Country Club of York. Josie is survived by two sons, Steven B. Barley and his wife, Tami of York, and Michael D. Barley and his wife, Heather of York; two daughters, Lisa A. Blyth and her husband, Matthew of York, and Beth E. Tozer and her husband, David of Leesburg, VA; 12 grandchildren, Megan, Bryan, and Marisa Barley, Sarah Wolf, Alex, Nicholas, and Mariah Barley, Taylor, Graham, Amanda, and Anna Blyth, and Michael Adam Tozer; brother Lorenzo Iacono of Dover; and sister Nicolina Lehman of York. She is preceded in death by brother Santo "Sam" Iacono. Josie was deeply committed to her family who were the centerpiece of her life. Memorial service Saturday at Advent Lutheran Church, York, Rev. David L. Ritterpusch and Rev. Brenda M. Ritterpusch, pastors of Advent Lutheran Church, officiating. Private burial at the convenience of the family at Mount Rose Cemetery. [York Daily Record]
