Mrs. Edith Titus Bailey, 56, wife of Thomas A. Bailey, 306 Maple way, died at 10:45 p.m. Monday at her home following a three-year illness. She was born May 20 1882, in Hickory township, a daughter of James and Margaret Wilson Titus. She lived her entire life in the Sharon district. She was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are her husband, a brother of Councilman James L. Bailey; two sons, Russell, Sharpsville, and Nelson, at home; a daughter, Margaret, at home; one grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. George Rettig, Mrs. Stella Lary, Mrs. Frank Jones, all of Sharon, and Mrs. Lloyd Offutt, Leesburg; and two brothers Burton Titus, Orangeville, and John Titus, Sharpsville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sample Funeral home, North Mail avenue, with Dr. LeRoy Halbert of the First Baptist church officiating. Internment will be in Oakwood cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Pallbearers were James Bailey, Arthur Bailey, Paul Titus, Jack Offutt, Joseph Smith and Earl Pope. {herald}
