The funeral for Edith I. Cornish, 93, will be 3 p.m. today at Freedom Christian Church. The Revs. Richard Pitt and Mark Kinkel will officiate. Burial will be in Fair Valley Cemetery. Arrange-ments are by Wharton Funeral Chapel.
She was born Sept. 20, 1912, in Fairvalley to Garrett Ray and Goldie Irene Clothier Vincent and died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, in Thomas.
She attended White Cloud rural grade school and Freedom schools, graduating from Freedom High School in 1931. She worked as a postal clerk in Freedom Post Office several years. She married Percy Vene Cornish Oct. 27, 1945, in Alva. He died Sept. 1, 1982. They made their home in Houston and moved to a farm north of Cushing, Texas, in 1977. She later moved to Freedom. She was a member of Church of Christ in Houston and Freedom Christian Church. She taught adult Sunday school class and served as Sunday school secretary.
Surviving is one sister-in-law, Ina Sylvester. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
