James Brownlee, age 84, died Sunday at a local hospital in Topeka. The body was shipped to Holton Tuesday and burial was in the Olive Hill cemetery. Mr. Brownlee was a former resident of west Jackson. The Holton Signal, February 7, 1918.

Havensville. From the Havensville Review - James Brownlee was born in Ohio, November 1834 and died at the state hospital in Topeka February 2, 1918. The deceased was one of the early pioneers of Jackson county. Was married to Victoria Loughmiller in 1861 who was called home in 1870. He leaves three children, H. E. Brownlee, Topeka; Jessie M. Quinton, Oskaloosa, Kansas and Anna M. Hallock, Chandler, Okla. .... The Holton Signal, February 14, 1918.
