Harvey Norton and Fannie Austin, were married in 1820 in the wilds of New York State. They resided at Watertown and Sacketts Harbor, N.Y. until the Spring of 1844 when they with their family of ten children (including John Austin)moved to what is now Mahaska County, Iowa, but then a territory in possession of the Indians. There Francis Prichard, their 11th child was born. In the Spring of 1858 during the Territorial War, they moved to Kansas, settling near Madison, Greenwood Co., KS.
