"Aldridge, John - Private, July 29, 1861. Deserted and surrendered to enemy at Charles Town, West Va. March 1865. Took oath of allegiance to U. S. Government and sent north March 20, 1865. (Born in Appling County, Ga. July 7, 1837.)"
