Mrs. Minnie West of 604 West Monmouth Street died in St. Mary's Hospital MONDAY, JUNE 6, AT 11:20 a.m. Mrs. West had been ill for the past two weeks. She was born in Kentucky. Her father's name was James Hurt and her mother's name was Mary Jane Norris Hurt. She attended school in Pine, Mo., and in 1916, married William West at Bennett, Mo.

In 1942, the West's moved to Abingdon from Doniphan, Mo. Mrs. West attended the Abingdon Christian Church.

Her husband survives her, together with six sons, James of Astoria, Ore., Edward, George, Chester and Eugene, all of Abingdon, and Charles of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Davis, Alexis, Mrs. Virginia Smith of Astoria, Ore., and Mrs. Irene Curtis of Galesburg; a brother, Mr. Charles Hurt of Dudley, Mo., and one sister; Mrs. Betty Roberts of Pine, Mo.

She was preceded in death by one son, Mack West, and two infant daughters, Docia Edna and Marie Joyce; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Reverend John Watson officiating. pallbearers were Ed Thompson, J. Hickerson, Bill Sharp, George Dawson, Bob Dawson, and Harvey Brock.

Mrs. Arlo Peck was the organist and Mary Alice Anderson was the vocalist. Burial was in Abingdon Cemetery.
