Services for La Joyce Bailey were held in the Community Memorial Funeral Home. She attended and graduated from Gorman High School in 1957. She married Jerry Max Bailey on 25 April 1958. He preceded her in death. She was employed by Abilene State School as a switchboard operator and bookkeeper for Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. She was later the medical records clerk for Ensign Corp. at Northern Oaks Nursing Center. She attended Cisco Jr. College and graduated from the University of Wisconsin / Milwaukee with a BFA in costume design with a minor in theatre. She was well known in Abilene theatre groups including the Abilene Repertory Theatre and the Abilene Community Theatre, as well as First Baptist Church, for her great acting ability. Survived by one son; one brother; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother - Alva George Lesley Hamilton.
