ELIZABETH BISHOP

Elizabeth Bishop, 81, of Sweetwater died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Rev. Clark Ford and Rev. Kevin Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

She was born June 29, 1908, in Crockett. She married Raymond W. Bishop December 20, 1936 in Cisco and had resided in Sweetwater for 54 years. Mr. Bishop died November 2, 1962.

She was a retired school teacher, teaching in Sweetwater for 15 years. She earned her bachelor of arts degree at Southwestern University in Georgetown, and had attended Kid Key Conservatory of Music and Sam Houston State Teachers college. A member of First Christian Church, she sang in the church choir for 50 years. She belonged to the Book Review Club, Mariposa Bridge Club and Atheneum Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Bishop and Joyce Nell Wright, both of Sweetwater; a sister, Nell Bridges of Sweetwater; and two grnadchildren, Cheryl Wright and Don Ray Wright, both of Sweetwater. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Sparks, in 1988.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at McCoy Funeral Home.
