Mrs. Allen was born in Wise County, Va., on May 12, 1908, a daughter of the late James William Cooper and Susan Caldwell Cooper. She attended Lincoln Elementary and Seiver Junior High Schools in Kingsport Tenn., and was a former textile employee and former owner and operator with her husband of the original Duncan Road Produce. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Allen Wilson of the home; four grandchildren, Brandon Hagan, reared in the home, Phillip Hagan and wife Kim and Beth Foster, all of Union and Laura Graham and husband Fred of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; five greatgrandchildren, Shane Adams, Sarah Foster, Jordan Hagan, Ashley Hagan, and Hagan Graham; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Adams. Mrs. Allen was predeceased by a brother, Cecil A. Cooper Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Tuesday at Unity United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Clayton Price and the Rev. Jerry Lawson. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg County.
Active pallbearers will be Phillip Hagan, Brandon Hagan, Jordan Hagan, Fred Graham, Michael Foster and Shane Adams.
The following are asked to assemble at the church Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. to form the honorary escort: Lee Brock, Jan Hagan, Clark Canupp, Michael Cohen, Jimmy Allen, Paul Allen Jr., David Cohen, Mickey Gist, Leroy Harris Sr., and James Lane. Care-givers from DHEC and Health Force are asked to sit in a group.
The family will receive friends at Unity United Methodist Church Tuesday 12:30 until 1:15 p.m.
