Della was the daughter of Jasper Haney and Vinnie Neeley. She married Olen Henry Cheek and they had five children: Wanda, Ann, Delbert, Jerry Oli, and Terry.

Delia Cheek

Delia Veola Cheek, 68, native of Arkansas and a Madera resident for 30 years, died Tuesday of a sudden illness.

She was a member of the Dixieland-Berenda Grange 784 and the Beacon Light Southern Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cheek is survived by her husband, Olin H. Cheek of Madera; two daughters, Wanda Goossen of Reedley and Ann Collins of Madera; three sons, Delbert Cheek of Gouldsboro, Pennsylvania, Jerry and Terry Cheek, both of Fresno; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Ethel Birdwell of Modesto, Geneva Deadmon of Reedley, Carrie Simmons, Violet Ford, Geraldine Hill and Clarcey Clark, all of Oklahoma.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Jay Chapel. Interment will follow in Arbor Vitae Cemetery.

The family prefers that remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society.
