"RUFUS GENTRY - TOLEDO
Rufus Gentry, 92, of Toledo died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1998) at Cumberland Nursing Center, Greenup.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, with the Rev. Jack Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Jewett Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours before the service at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 3, 1906, in Woodbury, the son of Hiram Newton Gentry and Barbara Etta Claybaugh. He married Marie Yaw in 1929; she died in 1986.
Survivors include one son, Joe Gentry of Toledo; three daughters, Helen Olmstead and Lavona Stewart both of Toledo and Elaine Carlen of Greenup; 16 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Gentry was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters."
