Mrs. Ada M. Mathews

Wife of Ralph Mathews, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Glass, died at the home of her brother, James Glass where she was visiting on March 13th, 1906 at 11:30 a.m. Mrs. Mathews was stricken with paralysis on Monday about noon and died in a few hours. She had not been strong for some five years, but her death was unexpected, and came as a fearful shock to her family and friends. Mrs. Mathews was 22 years, and 14 days of age, being born Feb. 27, 1884. Her home has always been in Clarke county. She was a woman loved and respected by all of her associates and leaves in their memories only thoughts of her beautiful life. Like sunshine, she spread joy and good cheer every where she went. She was married to Mr. Ralph Mathews, Nov. 30, 1901. Mrs. Mathews made a profession of faith in Christ in the Methodist Protestant church at Fremont three years ago. We mourn her today, "but not as those who have no hope." The funeral services was conducted by Rev. H. E. Van Horn from the Fremont church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The large audience of friends attests the high esteem in which she was held, and of the respect for the bereaved ones. All that was earthly was tenderly laid to rest in Fremont cemetery there to await the great assembly of the saints.
