Death of Mrs. H. H. Holmes.

Mrs. Dora Holmes was born in Warren county, Iowa Sept. 6, 1870 died at her home in Des Moines Jan. 9, 1908 aged 37 years, 4 months and 3 days.

She was the daughter of George and Mary Reed. She was married to H. H. Holmes of Des Moines thirteen years ago.

She leaves to mourn, husband, two little daughters, Pauline age 11 years, Manilla age 9. Pauline was very ill at the time of her mothers death. She also leaves four brothers, three sisters and an aged father and a host of friends both in this county and Des Moines. All the skill of three learned Doctors and loving hands could not save our loved one's life. All we can do is trust in God to make us understand why she should be taken from us and her little ones who need their mother so much. She was such a loving wife and mother.

She was laid to rest beside her mother in Fremont cemetery. Mrs. Holmes was a sister to Mrs. Elias Touet, Mrs. B. H. Hardinger and Fred Reed of Osceola.
