Jacob Bergman, a farmer living about one mile north of West Branch, in this county, died suddenly of heart disease last Saturday morning. He had gone out about 10 o'clock to shovel away the snow preparatory to cutting a hole through the ice on a creek to make a place for watering his cattle. While thus engaged he fell down and was shortly after found lying dead where he had fallen. He had resided there about twenty-five years, and enjoyed the respect and esteem of his neighbors for miles around. His age was 60 years. He leaves a wife and four children. His children are George Bergman, miller of West Branch, Charles Bergman, of Ava, and Mrs. Frederick Liebig and Miss Louisa Bergman, who live with their parents.
