Pianist. Feminist. Daughter of Gabriel Ferrer Hernández, from San Juan and Monserrate Otero Navedo, from Vega Baja. She had a dream of Puerto Rico having a Conservatory of Music, which became a reality later on. She was an avid reader and said once during an interview: "cerraré los libros cuando cierre los ojos para siempre" (Ángela Negrón Muñoz in "Mujeres de Puerto Rico", 1935, pg. 200).
