Obituary:
Mrs. Mayme Fayette Rowe, widow of Charles Rowe of Orbisonia, died early Wednesday morning, July 27, 1949, after a long illness. She was born in Rockhill Furnace, a daughter of George W. and Elizabeth (Hildebrand) Briggs. Her husband, Charles Rowe, preceded her in death on September 16, 1944. Mrs. Rowe was a member of the Orbisonia Methodist Church and of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Orbisonia American Legion. She was the last survivor of her immediate family. Surviving are the following seven children: Mrs. Martina Wood of Chicago, Ill., Betty (Mrs. B.E.Gnuse) of Willemette, Ill., Audrey (Mrs. Victor Bair) of Shade Gap, Ruby (Mrs. Orris Waite) of Orbisonia, John of Mount Union, Joseph of Shippensburg and Richard of Orbisonia. Four grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Orbisonia Methodist Church with her pastor, the Rev. William Getchey, officiating. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ott funeral home, Orbisonia, anytime until noon on Saturday.
