LOVELL —At the home of his son-in-law, Mr. E. Church, near Davis City, Iowa, Saturday, June 29, 1895, Elder Ekin Lovell. He was born December 8, 1820, hence would have been 75 years of age the eighth of next December.

If the appellation "good" can be properly applied to ordinary mortals, its use in connection with the deceased is proper, and this is the highest praise that can be given.

Short services were held at the house, prayer being offered by Elder Asa Cochran. The remains were then taken to the Brick church in Lamoni, Sunday, June 30, where at 2:30 p. m., the funeral sermon was pronounced by Elder H. A. Stebbins, Elders Asa Cochran, and J. R. Lambert assisting in the services. A last resting place was found in Rose Hill.

Deceased leaves a wife, five sons, and one daughter to mourn his departure. Two of his sons are in Nebraska; the residue of the family resides near Lamoni.
