From the August 12th, 2006 Frankfort Times Newspaper (Frankfort, Indiana):

Lora Marie Abbott, 108, Kokomo, died at 11:20 a.m. Aug. 10, 2006, in Windsor Estates Health Care Center.

Mrs. Abbott had been a cook for Elks Lodge 190 and retired in 1957. She made an afghan every year up to age 90 and donated it to the We Care auction. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting and watching game shows and was an avid Colts, Pacers and Chicago Cubs fan.

She was born May 12, 1898, in Miami County to Michael B. and Ida Belle Kepner Wininger.

Surviving are grandchildren Michael and Sandra Hawn of Frankfort, Janet Hawn of Kokomo, Vicki and Charles Calvert of Veedersburg, Sondra and Tom Sulley of Pensacola, Fla., John Abbott of Phoenix and Debbie and Phillip Folkerts of Noblesville; nine great-grandchildren, Michele and Lyle Jenkins of Frankfort, Teresa and Josh Trenary of Lebanon, Mark and Diana Hawn of Trevor City, Mich., Melissa Ritter and Michelle Calvert of Veedersburg, Cheri and Ty Minick of Wallace, Shannon and John Carlson of Michigan, LaSandra Clark of Washington and Nick Macy of Noblesville; six great-great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kelby, Hannah, Madison, Zoe and Morgan.

A son, Bypherd G.; two daughters, Nina Marie Hawn and Helen A. Anderson; and great-great-granddaughter Lindsey preceded her in death.

Calling will be 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster St. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. in Galveston Cemetery. Pastor Terry Bare will officiate.
