Gen George Doolittle was a Revolutionary War Veteran serving six years. He enlisted in CT at the age of 17 years. He was a shoemaker, tanner, and currier. He married Grace Wetmore in 1783. He moved his young family from CT to Whitestown, NY becoming one of the town's first pioneers. He was made General in 1800 , prosperous in business, and prominent in public affairs. He died suddenly in Whitesboro NY at age 65.
