"SHELBY- Mr. Ronald "Ron" Barber, 45, of 440 Poplar Springs Church Rd., Shelby, died Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at home.

FUNERAL: Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel BURIAL: Private family burial will follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Thursday, August 3, 2006 from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, Freda McSwain, 837 Old Boiling Springs Rd., Shelby, NC.

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Gus Barber Jr. and Frances Hamrick Barber and was employed with Mayflower Vehicle Systems for almost 20 years. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, enjoyed working out and loved spending time with his sisters.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: He was preceded in death by his parents. SURVIVORS: He is survived by four sisters, Rachel Hunt and husband, Bob of Shelby, Hilda Lail and husband, Bob, of Boiling Springs, Freda McSwain and husband, Garry and Lynn Lybrand and husband, Jim, all of Shelby; eight nieces and nephews, Laura Hamrick and husband, Mark, Jesse Hunt and wife, Anna, Wesley Lail, Lori Lail, Ally McSwain, Josh McSwain and wife, Wendy, Jamie Lybrand, and Lance Lybrand; and great nephew, Jordan Hamrick.
