Musician. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was a baritone singer and founding member of the Doo-Wop musical group, The Four Knights. They started out in 1943, as a black gospel group then changed their musical direction to rhythm and blues. Signed to Decca Records, they released their first single, "Just in Case You Change Your Mind" in April 1946. By 1953, they toured, headlined at the Apollo in New York, also appeared on TV shows such as Perry Como, Ed Sullivan and Red Skelton. For the next decade their hits included "The Glory of Love", "That's All There Is to That", "My Personal Possession" and "O Falling Star". Dixon died in Los Angeles, California.
