Paul Steven Gauthier was the son of Albert Leo Gauthier and Grace Dorothy Runyon Gauthier. He married Marcia B. Bliss. Their children are Nan Catherine, Anthony Paul, Joseph Albert, Margaret Joann and Christopher Alan Gauthier. During World War II he served as a briefing and information officer on the staff of General George S. Patton, Jr. and to some 5-60 war correspondents covering Third Army operations in Europe. He is the author of "Brickbats From F Company." He was editor and publisher of a weekly newspaper "The Adams County Free Press" for 33 years.
