Lester F. Derr, 84, formerly of Hummelstown, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the home of his niece in Thompsontown.
Born May 16, 1922, in Reitzville, he was the son of the late Jacob and Sarah (Klick ) Derr.
He retired from the former Reading Railroad; a member of Charlton United Methodist Church, Harrisburg; Brownstone Lodge #666 F. & A.M.; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine; Hershey Shrine; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Reading Company Square and Compass; the United Transportation Union; and was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline (Alleman) Derr; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to the American Heart Association, 4999 Louise Drive, Suite 104, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
