"Mrs. J.D. Hambrick Succumbs Yesterday.
Mrs. Georgia Calfee Hambrick died at 10:45 o'clock Friday morning at her home, 617 Mercer Street. She had been in failing health for two years.
Mrs. Hambrick was a native of this county being born at Bluefield, WV May 5, 1888, the daughter of William Johnson and Matilda Calfee Johnson. In 1912, she married James D. Hambrick who died eighteen months ago. Mrs. Hambrick was a member of the First Christian Church for many years.
Brothers and sisters who survive are: Miss Erie Johnson and Stanley Johnson of Princeton; Mrs. Ora Compton of Beckley; Errett Johnson of Sanish, ND; J.W. Johnson and S.F. Johnson of Chester, PA.
The body will remain at the Memorial Funeral directory Chapel until the funeral hour, 6 o'clock Sunday afternoon, when services will be conducted at the First Christian Church by the Rev. Frank L. Stuck. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Flower bearers will include Madeline Montrosse, Pauline Lambert, Helen Compton, Eva Houchins, Mary Compton, Pauline King, Audrey Lambert, Claudine Stephenson, Leta Tomlinson, nieces of Mrs. Hambrick. Pallbearers will be Paul Lambert, O.K. Compton, Angelo Montrosse, D.C. Marvin and Lumb Tabor.
Honorary pallbearers: Omer Belcher, W.E. Francis, Dr. J.I. Markell, Dr. Frank Holroyd, Lacy Godby, H.N. Felty and W.E. Walk."
Georgia was the daughter of William Milton Johnson and Matilda Elizabeth Calfee. She married James Dudley Hambrick.
